Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Deptford's Tod Rushforth started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Drew Thomas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Jones having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Dexter Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Rushforth came free, but Pete Jones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dexter Fc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ged Archer was slow to take the kick. During this time Deptford's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ged Archer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pete Jones quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pete Jones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Drew Thomas struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Pete Jones didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deptford. If Drew Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mike Lumb in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andre Forrest prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 38 played minutes Deptford got a freekick which was hit by Ash Hatcher. Mike Lumb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Andre Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mike Lumb to make the kick off. Drew Thomas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Pete Jones when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pete Jones was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Drew Thomas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 57 minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Deptford's Drew Thomas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pete Jones narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Philip Watkinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip Watkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Forrest having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Drew Thomas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Pete Jones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tod Rushforth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Philip Watkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 played minutes Deptford got a freekick which was hit by Jonathon North. Deptford's Andre Forrest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Watkinson in the 96th minute of play. The Dexter Fc supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Deptford's performance. The match ended with a win for Deptford.
