Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rex Dunne started the match with the kick off. When Deptford's Tod Rushforth, in the 2nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Deptford. In the 8th minute, Rex Dunne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rex Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Forrest having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Rupert Armitstead hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sam Woolcock's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Andre Forrest firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rupert Armitstead hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Sam Woolcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sam Woolcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Andre Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darren Pye-Finch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Drew Thomas's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Jonathon North sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Erith getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Frank Higgins hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Tod Rushforth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deptford's supporters rose to their feet, but Tod Rushforth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darren Pye-Finch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Higgins's late challenge caught a Deptford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Higgins helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th minute, Frank Higgins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Drew Thomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deptford's supporters rose to their feet, but Drew Thomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Deptford booed when Erith was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Higgins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Drew Thomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deptford's supporters rose to their feet, but Drew Thomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tod Rushforth was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Deptford's Drew Thomas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Darren Pye-Finch. That made the score 0-3 after 54 minutes of play. Drew Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Darren Pye-Finch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darren Pye-Finch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Drew Thomas went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. If Drew Thomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Archie Jenas during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Darren Pye-Finch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Rushforth in the 84th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Tod Rushforth recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Darren Pye-Finch. Tod Rushforth showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. If Sam Woolcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deptford's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
