Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Twyford's Ronan Brewer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Shepton Mallet's Sean Crabtree sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shaun Sutcliffe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 5th minute, David Leadbeater fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nigel Messenger, passed just outside the right post. David Leadbeater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nigel Messenger made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when David Leadbeater sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronan Brewer in the 17th minute of play forced Shepton Mallet's goalkeeper Nigel Messenger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Shepton Mallet got a freekick which was hit by Philip Stubbs. If David Leadbeater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 minutes, Rio Norton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Twyford and the Shepton Mallet players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Twyford's Rio Norton got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Twyford's goal looked a bit too open when Damien Caine came free, but Shaun Sutcliffe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronan Brewer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nigel Messenger came out and tried to block the shot, but Ronan Brewer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. Nigel Messenger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronan Brewer, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. During the 31st minute of the match Rio Norton completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rio Norton a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Rio Norton kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Sean Crabtree recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Benjamin Wray kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Nigel Messenger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Leadbeater, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A collision led to Shepton Mallet getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Benjamin Wray hit a great ball. Sean Crabtree received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Shaun Sutcliffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Twyford's Shaun Sutcliffe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Crabtree in the 67th minute of play. David Leadbeater might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nigel Messenger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Leadbeater ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Shepton Mallet's zone, Ronan Brewer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nigel Messenger came out of the goal and Ronan Brewer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronan Brewer kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Shepton Mallet's Buster Woodhouse broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If David Leadbeater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Leadbeater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Messenger having to interfere. The supporters of Twyford booed when Shepton Mallet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Wray didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Twyford had played much better football throughout.
