Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Loyd Lofthouse kicked off to start the match. Greg Haugue received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Noel Bramble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 9 minutes, Loyd Lofthouse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welling's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loyd Lofthouse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl Pullen during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Karl Pullen hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Loyd Lofthouse might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noel Bramble. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Loyd Lofthouse ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute, John-Paul Attenborough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 played minutes Welling got a freekick which was hit by Karl Pullen. When Loyd Lofthouse came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Welling fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Loyd Lofthouse couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Greg Haugue during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Kentish Town booed when Welling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg Haugue didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Darryl Castleton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rich Hurst showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th minute, Marek Hough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Welling's Luke Shephard tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Greg Haugue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Loyd Lofthouse scored 3-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Bramble, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Loyd Lofthouse notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Kentish Town's Noel Bramble. Noel Bramble was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Welling's Loyd Lofthouse in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kentish Town's goalie prevented a goal. In the 72nd minute, Kristopher Holbrook reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rich Hurst. The goal made the score 4-1. 75 minutes into the match, Loyd Lofthouse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Bramble. Kentish Town's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loyd Lofthouse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Loyd Lofthouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Noel Bramble tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Kentish Town got a freekick which was hit by Kirk Boulton. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loyd Lofthouse in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noel Bramble prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loyd Lofthouse in the 91st minute of play forced Kentish Town's goalkeeper Noel Bramble to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96th play minutes Loyd Lofthouse shot 6-1, a short shot which went by Noel Bramble and just under the crossbar into goal. Welling's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
