Ivan England tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Trinidad's goal looked a bit too open when Connor Sills came free, but Ivan England reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Reuben Champion cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dennis Firth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dennis Firth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reuben Champion in the 30th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Trinidad booed when The Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lance Miller didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Matthew Jones sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dennis Firth skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Trinidad's zone, Connor Sills stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan England came out of the goal and Connor Sills tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan England didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when The Rangers FC's Connor Sills shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute. 80 minutes into the game, Louis Welsh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trinidad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Rangers FC the free kick. After 81 played minutes Trinidad got a freekick which was hit by Louis Welsh. Dennis Firth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leigh Fayle went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. If Leigh Fayle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duncan Nevin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan England having to interfere. The Rangers FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
