Ruben Rutherford started the match with the kick off. Les Ring showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Rutherford in the 3rd minute of the match. After 8 minutes, John Nicoll mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bristol Fishponds United and the Hackney FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Al Potterton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Moore was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ruben Rutherford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bristol Fishponds United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Rutherford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Les Ring breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Hackney FC's Lee Folan got a free kick in the 20th minute. Lee Folan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Sean Alsford hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Al Potterton struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Ivan Moore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hackney FC. The attack was good, but when Al Potterton in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sebastien Cooke charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastien Cooke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hackney FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Sebastien Cooke hit a great ball. Donald Corbridge missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 34 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Les Ring right hand side. Wayne Lamb hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Dom Ellershaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Moore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Al Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ivan Moore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game Al Potterton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bristol Fishponds United's Ivan Moore was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 46th minute, Al Potterton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Moore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Ellershaw in the 48th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Al Potterton was the one to do the kick off. If Al Potterton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Moore made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Dom Ellershaw sent off a good shot on target. Hackney FC's Les Ring played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Rutherford in the 65th minute of play. Al Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ivan Moore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Al Potterton put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ivan Moore. Bristol Fishponds United's Ruben Rutherford got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Rutherford in the 81st minute of play forced Hackney FC's goalkeeper Les Ring to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dom Ellershaw struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Ivan Moore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hackney FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dom Ellershaw got free with Ivan Moore in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Hackney FC booed when Bristol Fishponds United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Lamb didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Moore was a little too slow when Dom Ellershaw got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-2. The supporters of Hackney FC booed when Bristol Fishponds United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Alsford didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hackney FC's zone, Jason Caine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Les Ring came out of the goal and Jason Caine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jason Caine scored 1-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Les Ring, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hackney FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
