Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tyrone Simpson kicked off to start the match. Philip Marsden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Munday having to interfere. Knottingley's Lloyd Crtichell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyrone Simpson in the 6th minute of play. When Ossett United's Tyrone Simpson in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Knottingley's goalie prevented a goal. In the 12th match minute, Ossett United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Morley to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Knottingley's zone, Lewis Bartram stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lloyd Crtichell came out of the goal and Lewis Bartram tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Knottingley getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Steven Lobb hit a great ball. Lloyd Crtichell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyrone Simpson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Tyrone Simpson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ossett United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knottingley's goalkeeper Lloyd Crtichell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Philip Marsden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Benjamin Munday made a huge save. Tyrone Simpson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lloyd Crtichell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute Thomas Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Munday saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Knottingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Budden to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Tyrone Simpson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ossett United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyrone Simpson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Ossett United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Thomas Budden made the kick off in the second half. Dave Way hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ossett United booed when Knottingley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Lobb didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st match minute, Ossett United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Way to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the game, Ossett United's Tyrone Simpson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lloyd Crtichell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Tyrone Simpson came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Ossett United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tyrone Simpson couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tyrone Simpson in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lloyd Crtichell saved Knottingley from getting behind. Tyrone Simpson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Lloyd Crtichell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th match minute, Knottingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alistair Gamble to maneuver through the defense. Lloyd Crtichell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tyrone Simpson went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Knottingley's zone, Tyrone Simpson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lloyd Crtichell came out of the goal and Tyrone Simpson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tyrone Simpson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lloyd Crtichell having to make a save. Tyrone Simpson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Lloyd Crtichell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lewis Bartram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Lloyd Crtichell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tyrone Simpson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ossett United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
