In the 3rd minute Dominic Duke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennie Webster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodney Slator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mark Strickland during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Huyton United's Mark Strickland got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Dominic Duke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bulwell AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominic Duke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Huyton United's goal looked a bit too open when Rodney Slator came free, but Lennie Webster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th play minute Pete Corcoran came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jools Cardwell. 1-0. In the 18th minute, Mark Strickland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Dominic Duke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lennie Webster was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Pete Corcoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Bulwell AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Romeo Steed hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes Bulwell AFC got a freekick which was hit by Josh Banks. Lennie Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodney Slator in the 35th minute of the match. A hard shot by Wayne Goodman from long distance, 40 minutes into the match, got Jools Cardwell's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Romeo Steed fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bulwell AFC's protests and gave Romeo Steed a yellow card for diving instead. Romeo Steed hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zak Croxford to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Dominic Duke made a precise shot to the right of Lennie Webster. Huyton United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Jools Cardwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zak Croxford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Mark Strickland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huyton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Strickland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jools Cardwell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Pete Corcoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dominic Duke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Lennie Webster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Rodney Slator reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lennie Webster. The goal made the score 1-3. In the 74thth minute of the game Rodney Slator who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huyton United's Lennie Webster was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zak Croxford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Corcoran in the 79th minute of play forced Bulwell AFC's goalkeeper Jools Cardwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Bulwell AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pete Corcoran came free, but Jools Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zak Croxford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jools Cardwell having to interfere. Jools Cardwell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zak Croxford in the 84th minute of the match. Dominic Duke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bulwell AFC's Jools Cardwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zak Croxford in the 95th minute of play.
