Quentin Sawyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huyton United. 20 minutes into the game, Louis Townson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lennie Webster. Pete Corcoran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37thth minute of the game Pete Corcoran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sidmouth City's Quentin Sawyer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Zak Croxford cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Quentin Sawyer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zak Croxford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quentin Sawyer having to interfere. In the 44th minute Zak Croxford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quentin Sawyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zak Croxford in the 45th minute of play forced Sidmouth City's goalkeeper Quentin Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Quentin Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zak Croxford in the 74th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Pete Corcoran could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Quentin Sawyer however easily saved by the left post. If Pete Corcoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute.
