Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Mickey Wardman made the kick off and thus started the match. Pierce Rogers's late challenge caught a Geddington City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierce Rogers helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, Brackley Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierce Rogers to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Brackley Town's goal looked a bit too open when Denzil Bettinson came free, but Jeff Langford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denzil Bettinson in the 9th minute of play forced Brackley Town's goalkeeper Jeff Langford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeff Langford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gwyn Burton went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geddington City's goalkeeper Martyn Cheeseman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martyn Cheeseman made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Ben Camfield sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, Geddington City's goalkeeper Martyn Cheeseman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paddy Bennett. In the 31st minute Mickey Wardman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeff Langford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeff Langford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denzil Bettinson in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Gwyn Burton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geddington City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After having played for 39 minutes, Johnny Reed managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brackley Town's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Reed was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chip Lineker in the 40th minute of play forced Brackley Town's goalkeeper Jeff Langford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Ben Camfield got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ben Camfield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martyn Cheeseman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gwyn Burton during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Brackley Town players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Geddington City were winning 1-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodd Tuck made a kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Jeff Langford successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the Geddington City defense, Rodd Tuck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martyn Cheeseman. The Geddington City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martyn Cheeseman should have stopped the shot. After 60 played minutes Geddington City got a freekick which was hit by Denzil Bettinson. In the 61st minute, Paddy Bennett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brackley Town fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. 64 minutes into the match, Geddington City's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Camfield came free, but Martyn Cheeseman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Brackley Town getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rodd Tuck hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Brackley Town's goalkeeper Jeff Langford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denzil Bettinson. If Mickey Wardman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Ben Camfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brackley Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Ben Camfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martyn Cheeseman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Mickey Wardman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jeff Langford. That made the score 3-3 in the 74 minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Mickey Wardman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jeff Langford. Mickey Wardman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-4. Thanks to some nice moves Denzil Bettinson could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Jeff Langford however easily saved by the left post. Paddy Bennett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Cheeseman having to interfere. Martyn Cheeseman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Reed in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Ben Camfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brackley Town fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. With his leg Jeff Langford managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Geddington City's Blair McGrath fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
