When Shane Hoskins fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored YNWA United's protests and gave Shane Hoskins a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, YNWA United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shane Hoskins to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Mawson in the 7th minute of play forced YNWA United's goalkeeper Kev Tonkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeffrey Fielden kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Connor Carey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kev Tonkin. YNWA United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Connor Carey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Swanage City's zone, Shane Hoskins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Doughty came out of the goal and Shane Hoskins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when YNWA United's Shane Hoskins fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gez Mawson in the 21st minute of play. Connor Carey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gez Mawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Kev Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Connor Carey got free with Kev Tonkin in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Connor Carey might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kev Tonkin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Connor Carey ran back to his position shaking his head. After 42 minutes, Jeffrey Fielden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the YNWA United and the Swanage City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in YNWA United's zone, Connor Carey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kev Tonkin came out of the goal and Connor Carey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kev Tonkin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niall Beard went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gez Mawson to strike the kick off in the second half. Shane Hoskins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toby Doughty read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Swanage City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Marenghi to maneuver through the defense. If Connor Carey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Connor Carey in the 67th minute of play. YNWA United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shane Hoskins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kev Tonkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Mawson in the 91st minute of the match. If Gez Mawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Mawson in the 95th minute of play forced YNWA United's goalkeeper Kev Tonkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Connor Carey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kev Tonkin having to interfere. Swanage City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
