No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

Scott Sutton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chris Auckland went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute Chris Auckland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Sutton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leek's goalkeeper Phil Braithwaite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. oldham united's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
