Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ian Gallagher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chingford City's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Gallagher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marty Rundle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerry Greenfield kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Ian Gallagher put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marty Rundle. Ian Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Rundle having to interfere. Marty Rundle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Gallagher in the 21st minute of play. Marty Rundle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerry Greenfield in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Billie Corbridge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chingford City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ipswich the free kick. After 24 played minutes Chingford City got a freekick which was hit by Billie Corbridge. Rio Haywood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Dom Downes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Gerry Greenfield made a precise shot to the right of Marty Rundle. Ipswich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 31st match minute, Ipswich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Slabber to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ipswich's zone, Ian Gallagher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Rundle came out of the goal and Ian Gallagher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ipswich's Marty Rundle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Gallagher in the 36th minute of play. Marty Rundle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Gallagher's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Karl Beresford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ipswich's Joe Corby tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Gallagher made a kick off. If Gerry Greenfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Chingford City booed when Ipswich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Henderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marty Rundle was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rory Darnbrooke. In the 62nd minute Louis Slabber suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After having played for 66 minutes, Gerry Greenfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chingford City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerry Greenfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marty Rundle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gerry Greenfield showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 91 minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Gerry Greenfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
