Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Peter Parrott kicked off to start the match. Christopher Mahon might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Derek Miller. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christopher Mahon ran back to his position shaking his head. Derek Miller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caleb Jepson, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Waterloo City's Christopher Mahon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derek Miller narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Reg Impey was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 19 minutes into the match. The referee gave Waterloo City a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Glen Cutts, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brixton's Derek Miller. 0-1. If Caleb Jepson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simeon Crowell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Caleb Jepson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterloo City's supporters rose to their feet, but Caleb Jepson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derek Miller breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nigel Law took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Derek Miller. Brixton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Aaron Medley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brixton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterloo City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brixton's Aaron Medley got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Waterloo City's Glen Cutts tried to score from far away in the 43rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half Waterloo City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christopher Mahon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Derek Miller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caleb Jepson in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Caleb Jepson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterloo City's supporters rose to their feet, but Caleb Jepson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derek Miller breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christopher Mahon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Derek Miller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Will Seal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simeon Crowell in the 61st minute of the match. After 69 minutes, Pierce Ellerby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterloo City and the Brixton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Waterloo City got a freekick which was hit by Pierce Ellerby. 71 minutes into the match, Simeon Crowell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Will Seal. Waterloo City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simeon Crowell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 79 minutes, Doug Butterfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterloo City and the Brixton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Doug Butterfield kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christopher Mahon in the 85th minute of play forced Brixton's goalkeeper Derek Miller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Derek Miller managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Waterloo City's Caleb Jepson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
