The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Vance Willoughby put in a rough tackle. In the 95th minute, one of Street:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Street. In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Denholme. Stan Knowles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Johnny Bale. 1-2. When the match was over Street could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Denholme throughout the match.
