Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tosh Osbourn took the kick off in the first half of the match. Louis Jordoan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenny Deighton, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Tosh Osbourn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger Cousens. Knottingley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tosh Osbourn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Hayes in the 10th minute of play. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Knottingley's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Doug Charlton was slow to take the kick. During this time Thurlaston's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Teddy Coleman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Knottingley's Roger Cousens did a great save. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Hayes in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tosh Osbourn in the 21st minute of play forced Knottingley's goalkeeper Roger Cousens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Hayes in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Thurlaston getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Teddy Coleman hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Thurlaston's Tosh Osbourn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Cousens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Knottingley booed when Thurlaston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddy Coleman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Jimmy Holstead sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Jordoan skillfully saved the ball. Tosh Osbourn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Thurlaston's Tosh Osbourn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger Cousens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 44th match minute, Thurlaston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Ainsworth to maneuver through the defense.

Brendon Forbes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Louis Jordoan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lenny Deighton's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Lance Hayes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Roger Cousens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Thurlaston's Tosh Osbourn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roger Cousens. That made the score 1-2 after 59 minutes of play. Knottingley's Roger Cousens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Knottingley from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lance Hayes during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lance Hayes kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Chaz Beswetherick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knottingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chaz Beswetherick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chaz Beswetherick in the 69th minute of play forced Thurlaston's goalkeeper Louis Jordoan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Cousens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tosh Osbourn in the 70th minute of the match. Knottingley's Roger Cousens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Knottingley from getting a goal against them. Lance Hayes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Roger Cousens made a huge save. Lenny Deighton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Louis Jordoan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Thurlaston getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Stan Wells hit a great ball. The supporters of Knottingley booed when Thurlaston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Ainsworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Knottingley's Jimmy Holstead to fire away a dangerous shot which Louis Jordoan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Thurlaston walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
