Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lenny Deighton started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Kelvin Flack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterloo United's supporters rose to their feet, but Kelvin Flack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Cousens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chaz Beswetherick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. David Gardner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Knottingley's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jimmy Holstead in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Alistair Starr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Cousens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Alistair Starr managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterloo United's supporters rose to their feet, but Alistair Starr was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Cousens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kelvin Flack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lennie Rusk hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Alistair Starr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Roger Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Knottingley's goal looked a bit too open when Kelvin Flack came free, but Roger Cousens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Waterloo United's Alistair Starr in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Knottingley's goalie prevented a goal. Roger Cousens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Flack in the 39th minute of the match. Roger Cousens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kelvin Flack in the 43rd minute of play. Kelvin Flack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Roger Cousens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Chaz Beswetherick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Devon Crowell kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alistair Starr in the 58th minute of play forced Knottingley's goalkeeper Roger Cousens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Chaz Beswetherick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knottingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chaz Beswetherick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Knottingley's Lenny Deighton got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Knottingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chaz Beswetherick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lenny Deighton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. David Gardner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lenny Deighton in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Gardner saved Waterloo United from getting behind. With his leg Roger Cousens managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Waterloo United's Kelvin Flack fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chaz Beswetherick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
