Shaftesbury

Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Drew Hitchcock took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 11th minute Aaron Pitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Titmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th match minute, Shaftesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Sheringham to maneuver through the defense. Ilford Town Fc's Stan Morrison couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Shaftesbury. When Rupert Morrell came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ilford Town Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Morrell couldn't finish the play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Aaron Pitt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shaftesbury's Devon Titmus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aaron Pitt in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Devon Titmus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Shaftesbury's zone, Rupert Morrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Devon Titmus came out of the goal and Rupert Morrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rupert Morrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Pitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Titmus having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rupert Morrell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilford Town Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Rupert Morrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devon Titmus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Aaron Pitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Shaftesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Morrell came free, but Devon Titmus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rupert Morrell was the one to do the kick off. Aaron Pitt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Devon Titmus when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Devon Titmus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Morrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Rupert Morrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shaftesbury's Devon Titmus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Shaftesbury from getting a goal against them. Aaron Pitts short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Devon Titmus to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vance Heath kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Shaftesbury's goalkeeper Devon Titmus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Pitt. Devon Titmus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Morrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Drew Hitchcock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 played minutes Shaftesbury got a freekick which was hit by Vance Heath. Devon Titmus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Morrell in the 87th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Ilford Town Fc's Devon Titmus threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rupert Morrell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 95 played minutes, Shaftesbury's Thom Trusswell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nat Hassell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shaftesbury reached it. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ilford Town Fc players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
