Walton On The Naze's Darren Kear played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Clayton in the 27th minute of play. After 29 played minutes, Frome City's Eric Darby shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darren Kear came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Frome City reached it. In the 34th minute Alastair Mahon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Kear saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darren Kear showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Clayton, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Alastair Mahon notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Walton On The Naze's Darren Kear. Darren Kear was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lee Pool kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match.
