Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Redruth AFC's Laurence Brownlow started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Hickson in the 6th minute of play forced Redruth AFC's goalkeeper Cliff Heywood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnathan Mann was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 11th minute. Redruth AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 13 minutes into the game, Johnathan Mann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Joe Sugden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Polzeath City's Joe Sugden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Brownlow in the 16th minute of play. If Johnathan Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Polzeath City getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kenny Warner hit a great ball. Johnathan Mann's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joe Sugden firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Stuart Hickson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnathan Mann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Joe Sugden made a huge save. Polzeath City's Joe Sugden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Polzeath City from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute Laurence Brownlow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Sugden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnathan Mann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Joe Sugden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Polzeath City's Joe Sugden got control of the ball when Johnathan Mann tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Joe Sugden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurence Brownlow in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Redruth AFC's Casey Moore got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Johnathan Mann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Joe Sugden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laurence Brownlow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Sugden having to interfere. Joe Sugden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathan Mann, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Rex Lowe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joe Sugden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnathan Mann in the 65th minute of the match. Johnathan Mann struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Joe Sugden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redruth AFC. Joe Sugden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurence Brownlow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Steel charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peter Steel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Redruth AFC booed when Polzeath City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Steel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Polzeath City's goalkeeper Joe Sugden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Johnathan Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Polzeath City defense, Johnathan Mann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joe Sugden. The Polzeath City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joe Sugden should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Polzeath City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Redruth AFC.
