The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Karl Buxton's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Phillip Hindmarsh skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Karl Buxton took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Phillip Hindmarsh to make any attempt to save it. Rhys Sutherland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Morley having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Lawrence Charie sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Oldham City's Phillip Hindmarsh didn't even have to move. 81 minutes in the game, Ray Waterhouse fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Phillip Hindmarsh having to interfere. Phillip Hindmarsh made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Karl Buxton sent off a good shot on target. Peter Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute.
