Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rod Jowsey got the match started through his kick off. After having played for 5 minutes, Rhys Sutherland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oldham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rhys Sutherland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Fleetham in the 12th minute of play forced Oldham City's goalkeeper Phillip Hindmarsh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rhys Sutherland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anthony Rundle charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Rundle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anthony Rundle hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ritchie Tomkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Potterton, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A collision led to Dartford FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Al Rashleigh hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Robbie Wiley sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dartford FC's Ritchie Tomkins didn't even have to move. After 32 played minutes Dartford FC got a freekick which was hit by Marlon Tuck. When Peter Potterton came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Oldham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Potterton couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Potterton in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ritchie Tomkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46thth minute of the game Peter Potterton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dartford FC's Ritchie Tomkins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dartford FC's goalkeeper Ritchie Tomkins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rhys Sutherland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Rhys Sutherland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rod Jowsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rod Jowsey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Oldham City's Rhys Sutherland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ritchie Tomkins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Reggie Bentley's late challenge caught a Oldham City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reggie Bentley helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Oldham City booed when Dartford FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reggie Bentley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ritchie Tomkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rhys Sutherland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rhys Sutherland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ritchie Tomkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 81 minutes of play, Oldham City's Peter Potterton made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ritchie Tomkins was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rhys Sutherland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ritchie Tomkins having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Peter Potterton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ritchie Tomkins was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Rod Jowsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ritchie Tomkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Potterton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Oldham City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
