Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) West Bromwich Albion's William Blackwater started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Carter got free with Dave Elwick in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. William Carters short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Dave Elwick to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 17 minutes into the match, William Carter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dave Elwick. Barhill City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Carter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of West Bromwich Albion booed when Barhill City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fraser Bettney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Jez Steel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Barhill City's Gwyn Thackray in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Tommy Beswetherick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zackary Byfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes of play, Barhill City's Gwyn Thackray made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zackary Byfield was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gwyn Thackray to make the kick off. Gwyn Thackray received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zackary Byfield came out and tried to block the shot, but Gwyn Thackray slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 53rd minute. If William Carter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Blackwater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 62 minutes into the game, Nath Jones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. West Bromwich Albion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barhill City the free kick. Nath Jones kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Zackary Byfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwyn Thackray in the 66th minute of the match. After 70 played minutes Barhill City got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Brent. When Jez Steel fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored West Bromwich Albion's protests and gave Jez Steel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, William Blackwater left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The West Bromwich Albion fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. William Blackwater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Leo Routledge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 99 played minutes, Barhill City's Vincent Brent shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zackary Byfield came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barhill City reached it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. West Bromwich Albion had played much better football throughout.
