Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bruce Battersby started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Ed Osborn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Elwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Byron Hamilton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leon Brook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Battersby, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute, one of Maylandsea:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maylandsea. After a defensive mix-up in Barhill City's zone, Ed Osborn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Elwick came out of the goal and Ed Osborn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ed Osborn in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dave Elwick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Byron Hamilton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Barhill City's Mickey Musgrove got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Loyd Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dave Elwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristopher Fieldwick during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kristopher Fieldwick kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Loyd Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Elwick having to interfere. Gwyn Thackray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Leon Brook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Barhill City's Dave Elwick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Barhill City from getting a goal against them. Ed Osborn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Dave Elwick made a huge save. In the 54thth minute of the game Ed Osborn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barhill City's Dave Elwick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, Barhill City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ed Osborn fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 62 minutes into the game, Denis Jowsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maylandsea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barhill City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Maylandsea's Denis Jowsey got a free kick in the 62nd minute. When Kristopher Fieldwick was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 66 minutes had been played. After 67 played minutes Maylandsea got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Fieldwick. In the 68th minute, Andrew Gillow sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maylandsea's Leon Brook didn't even have to move. Gwyn Thackray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Leon Brook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loyd Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dave Elwick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ed Osborn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ed Osborn who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Dave Elwick when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Maylandsea's Ed Osborn got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dave Elwick acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Stuart Davies.
