Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kristopher Blackwood started the match with the kick off. Ronan Bennett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Connell having to interfere. Roy Connell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Atkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute Timothy Atkins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Connell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommy Doughty during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Kristopher Blackwood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stan Whitworth kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Timothy Atkins got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The goalkeeper, Vince Digby, was totally fooled by Northallerton's Michael Deveraux, who 32 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Vince Digby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristopher Blackwood in the 40th minute of play. Northallerton's Alexander Milton got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vince Digby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Blackwood in the 46th minute of play. After 48 played minutes Sutton in Ashfield AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jez Glanvill.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Timothy Atkins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kristopher Blackwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Vince Digby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Northallerton got a freekick which was hit by Travis Robinson. Owen Hallam took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vince Digby. Vince Digby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When Fraser Winfield fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sutton in Ashfield AFC's protests and gave Fraser Winfield a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Northallerton booed when Sutton in Ashfield AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fraser Winfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timothy Atkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Connell having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Owen Hallam in the 81st minute of play forced Sutton in Ashfield AFC's goalkeeper Vince Digby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sutton in Ashfield AFC were furious when Max Ruddock was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sutton in Ashfield AFC! In the 88th minute Owen Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Digby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 90 minutes, Owen Hallam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northallerton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Owen Hallam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Owen Hallam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Jez Glanvill got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
