Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Denis Bradbury started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ainsdale's Robert Horner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ainsdale from getting a goal against them. Richie Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Robert Horner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Denis Bradbury who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ephemeral Ghosts's Theo Beadle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ephemeral Ghosts's Rupert Soares got a free kick in the 16th minute. Denis Bradbury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alistair Eslworth in the 20th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Robert Horner kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 24 minutes into the match, Ainsdale's Jason Hawke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theo Beadle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After recieving a nice pass, Ainsdale's Grant Nightingale tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Ephemeral Ghosts's goal looked a bit too open when Jason Hawke came free, but Theo Beadle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ainsdale booed when Ephemeral Ghosts was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Merchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Theo Beadle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Hawke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richie Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Richie Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Warren Cummins hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ainsdale's Denis Bradbury slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Theo Beadle. That made the score 1-1 after 59 minutes of play. If Jason Hawke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Theo Beadle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Bradbury in the 70th minute of the match. Richie Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Bradbury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Beadle having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Ephemeral Ghosts's Alistair Eslworth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Horner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ephemeral Ghosts defense, Jason Hawke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Theo Beadle. The Ephemeral Ghosts fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theo Beadle should have stopped the shot. After having played for 95 minutes, Jason Hawke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ainsdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jason Hawke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Ainsdale supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ainsdale would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
