Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Timothy Atkins started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Timothy Atkins came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Sutton in Ashfield AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timothy Atkins couldn't finish the play. 6 minutes into the match, Jez Glanvill had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Horner. Ainsdale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jez Glanvill was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 12th minute, Jez Glanvill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timothy Atkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcus Hammett's late challenge caught a Sutton in Ashfield AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Hammett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st minute, Marcus Hammett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Max Ruddock sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ainsdale's Robert Horner didn't even have to move. In the 29th minute Denis Bradbury shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Digby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Horner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jez Glanvill went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Robert Horner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Atkins in the 36th minute of play. Timothy Atkins struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Robert Horner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sutton in Ashfield AFC. Ainsdale's Robert Horner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timothy Atkins in the 40th minute of play. If Timothy Atkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Warren Cummins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Horner was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Jez Glanvill capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jez Glanvill really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0.

If Denis Bradbury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Jez Glanvill made a precise shot to the right of Robert Horner. Ainsdale's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Robert Horner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jez Glanvill in the 64th minute of the match. If Jez Glanvill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jez Glanvill came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Sutton in Ashfield AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jez Glanvill couldn't finish the play. Timothy Atkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Horner having to interfere. A hard shot by Grant Nightingale from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Vince Digby's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Robert Horner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jez Glanvill in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th match minute, Ainsdale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevie Chambers to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Stevie Chambers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Horner came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Jez Glanvill. But to his dismay, Jez Glanvill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1.
