Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alf Beckett started the match with the kick off. Beaconsfield AFC's Greg Rockett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Wilkins in the 4th minute of play. If Ken Etherington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crispin Croxford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matt Morley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Shanklin's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Beckett came free, but Matt Morley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shanklin's Matt Morley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Shanklin from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shanklin's goalkeeper Matt Morley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Beaconsfield AFC's Alf Beckett fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. When Crispin Croxford came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Shanklin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Crispin Croxford couldn't finish the play. Alf Beckett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Featherson got free with Matt Morley in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Crispin Croxford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Greg Rockett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Beaconsfield AFC booed when Shanklin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Etherington didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Felix Featherson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Crispin Croxford to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Beaconsfield AFC a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by George Ellerton, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Shanklin's Matt Morley. 2-0. When Alf Beckett came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Beaconsfield AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alf Beckett couldn't finish the play. Greg Rockett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dean Wilkins went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Matt Morley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Featherson in the 85th minute of play. If Alf Beckett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dean Wilkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Greg Rockett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Featherson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matt Morley having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Alf Beckett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matt Morley was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Beaconsfield AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
