In the 6thth minute of the game Rodd Ashton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Turnpike Lane's Jude Battersby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Walthamstow FC's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Steele came free, but Wes Chapman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodd Ashton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jude Battersby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodd Ashton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Kevin Clarkson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wes Chapman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodd Ashton in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jude Battersby saved Turnpike Lane from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Clarkson in the 27th minute of play forced Walthamstow FC's goalkeeper Wes Chapman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danny Gardiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jude Battersby having to interfere. If Bart Darko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Turnpike Lane's Gordon Atherton got a free kick in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Walthamstow FC's Ricky Nelson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jude Battersby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ricky Nelson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Jude Battersby made a huge save. In the 43rd minute, Bart Darko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rob Tanner's late challenge caught a Walthamstow FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rob Tanner helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Turnpike Lane's Rob Tanner got a free kick in the 46th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Neil Steele made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Turnpike Lane got a freekick which was hit by Rob Tanner. Jude Battersby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micheal Wilson in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match Phil Carpenter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jude Battersby skillfully saved the ball. If Micheal Wilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Turnpike Lane's Jude Battersby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Darko in the 59th minute of play. Rob Tanner got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 60th match minute, Turnpike Lane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rob Tanner to maneuver through the defense. Rodd Ashton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Micheal Wilson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Walthamstow FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 78th minute Rodd Ashton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Battersby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walthamstow FC's Wes Chapman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Steele in the 79th minute of play. Bart Darko struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jude Battersby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Walthamstow FC. 83 minutes into the match, Turnpike Lane's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Darko came free, but Jude Battersby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bart Darko in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jude Battersby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jude Battersby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Gardiner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wes Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Steele, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Neil Steele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wes Chapman having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Turnpike Lane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vance Titmus to maneuver through the defense. Walthamstow FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
