Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kelvin Cutts got the match started through his kick off. Stuart Hudson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kelvin Cutts in the 3rd minute of play. Vince Armstrong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Stuart Hudson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Calvin Purvis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Whiteley's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Gwyn Halford scored to the left of an out of position Glenn Pilkington, making the score, 2-0. Glenn Pilkington stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gwyn Halford's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After 22 played minutes Whiteley got a freekick which was hit by Vince Armstrong. Calvin Purvis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glenn Pilkington having to interfere. Stuart Hudson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vince Armstrong in the 33rd minute of play. Stuart Hudson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Cutts in the 36th minute of the match. Greenwood fc's Stuart Hudson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Armstrong in the 38th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Kelvin Cutts in the 39th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 43rd minute, Marek Lightfoot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stuart Hudson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kelvin Cutts's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Greenwood fc's goal looked a bit too open when Kelvin Cutts came free, but Stuart Hudson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gwyn Halford was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Purvis in the 51st minute of play forced Whiteley's goalkeeper Glenn Pilkington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Gwyn Halford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Glenn Pilkington. Whiteley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gwyn Halford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 57 minutes into the match, Greenwood fc's goalkeeper Stuart Hudson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kelvin Cutts. In the 58th minute, Vance Rowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gwyn Halford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Greenwood fc's Stuart Hudson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelvin Cutts in the 64th minute of play. When Andy Nightingale fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Greenwood fc's protests and gave Andy Nightingale a yellow card for diving instead. Andy Nightingale hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The audience cheered loudly when Calvin Gettins's long shot in the 66th minute became 3-1 when the ball went to the left of and passed Stuart Hudson. 69 minutes into the game, Gwyn Halford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Greenwood fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Whiteley the free kick. Gwyn Halford hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Calvin Purvis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Glenn Pilkington was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 78th minute, one of Greenwood fc:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Greenwood fc. Stuart Hudson had in the 80thth minute some difficulties stopping Calvin Gettins's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Vince Armstrong struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Stuart Hudson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whiteley. Whiteley's Kelvin Cutts got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vince Armstrong struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Stuart Hudson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whiteley. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Greenwood fc had won after a very even match.
