Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stu Hough started the match with the kick off. Mick Lomas struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Robert Seagrave didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ashford Fc. Eddie Wiseman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Lovett, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Mick Lomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Robert Seagrave made a huge save. In the 6th minute, Denny Parry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, Sedlescombe's goal looked a bit too open when Craig Knight came free, but Robert Seagrave reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Olly Crawshaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Wiseman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sedlescombe's Loyd Wagstaff pulled a muscle in his back after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 13 minutes, Brendon Evans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ashford Fc and the Sedlescombe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brendon Evans hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Denny Parry kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Robert Seagrave made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mick Lomas in the 18th minute. Mick Lomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robert Seagrave made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Warburton in the 28th minute of play. In the 37th minute Olly Crawshaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Wiseman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Warburton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Robert Seagrave tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bryan Warburton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Robert Seagrave made a huge save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olly Crawshaw stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olly Crawshaw who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Eddie Wiseman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sedlescombe's Robert Seagrave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stu Hough in the 67th minute of play. If Denny Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sedlescombe's Olly Crawshaw got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Oliver Lovett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Eddie Wiseman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Oliver Lovett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ashford Fc booed when Sedlescombe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denny Parry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denny Parry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ashford Fc's zone, Oliver Lovett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Wiseman came out of the goal and Oliver Lovett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bryan Warburton charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bryan Warburton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bryan Warburton kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Sammy Blueman's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Eddie Wiseman - 1-3 was put on the score board in the 87th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Sedlescombe's goal looked a bit too open when Bryan Warburton came free, but Robert Seagrave reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sedlescombe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sedlescombe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
