Frank Moorhouse scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Danny Cawood, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Moorhouse struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Danny Cawood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oakham United. In the 10th minute, Michael Colley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Caterham Valley's zone, Frank Moorhouse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Cawood came out of the goal and Frank Moorhouse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Caterham Valley getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Harvey Wellings hit a great ball. If Frank Moorhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Moorhouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Danny Cawood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donny Garnett in the 19th minute of the match. Frank Moorhouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Danny Cawood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harvey Wellings charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harvey Wellings the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Caterham Valley's Harvey Wellings got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Danny Cawood successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Danny Cawood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donny Garnett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 26 in the game by Frank Moorhouse from a close distance when the talented Danny Cawood managed to make a qualified save. Caterham Valley's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Oakham United's Donny Garnett slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Danny Cawood. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. In the 38th match minute, Caterham Valley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harvey Wellings to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute Oakham United were awarded a corner. Joshua Moxon went to the cornerflag to take it. If Donny Garnett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Moorhouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Danny Cawood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donny Garnett to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Oakham United's Noel Tandy got control of the ball when David Wilmott tried to sneak it across the goal line. Danny Cawood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Moorhouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Caterham Valley's David Wilmott stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Noel Tandy stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Oakham United of the goal. Dom Lowe kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, Michael Colley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caterham Valley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oakham United the free kick. The supporters of Oakham United booed when Caterham Valley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Colley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute Michael Colley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Tandy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caterham Valley's goalkeeper Danny Cawood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donny Garnett might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danny Cawood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donny Garnett ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Moorhouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Danny Cawood came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Oakham United's Donny Garnett. But to his dismay, Donny Garnett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Donny Garnett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caterham Valley's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
