Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Oakham United's Donny Garnett started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Sporting Díjon's Jim Pickering got a free kick in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Oakham United's zone, Donny Shotton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Tandy came out of the goal and Donny Shotton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sporting Díjon's Ken Beckford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josh Ploughman in the 20th minute of play. Ken Beckford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josh Ploughman in the 24th minute of the match. Ken Beckford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donny Garnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Donny Garnett took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ken Beckford. Ken Beckford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Donny Shotton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rod Wakefield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Noel Tandy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Oakham United's goal looked a bit too open when Vinnie Bodsworth came free, but Noel Tandy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ken Beckford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Ploughman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Rod Wakefield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Sporting Díjon's goalkeeper Ken Beckford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josh Ploughman. 58 minutes into the game, Rod Wakefield cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Noel Tandy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th match minute, Oakham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Blake to maneuver through the defense. Noel Tandy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vinnie Bodsworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
