Mini Citizens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence McKeown was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Mini Citizens's Sol Willis got a free kick in the 7th minute. Kyle Ealham's late challenge caught a Chelsea AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyle Ealham helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chelsea AFC booed when Mini Citizens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyle Ealham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laurence McKeown's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Rio Owen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ash Lomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nigel Schofield struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Pete Green didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea AFC. Laurence McKeown received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rio Owen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ash Lomas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Green having to interfere. Mini Citizens's Pete Green played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nigel Schofield in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Ash Lomas made a precise shot to the right of Pete Green. Mini Citizens's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Pedro Purvis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rio Owen having to interfere. If Nigel Schofield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Ash Lomas made the kick off in the second half. Nigel Schofield struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Pete Green didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea AFC. Geoff Barker kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Thom Boyd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pete Green made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nigel Schofield in the 71st minute. Chelsea AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thom Boyd in the 74th minute. Thom Boyd made a great header on Chelsea AFC's corner, it was just that Mini Citizens's Pete Green managed to reach the ball for a save. Chelsea AFC's Lennie Brent pulled a muscle in his back after 96 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Sol Willis got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Mini Citizens getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Sol Willis hit a great ball. Thom Boyd was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 99th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The Chelsea AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
