The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Everton City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bourne City:s goal. Dale Nelthorpe took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Will Barber. Will Barber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Dale Nelthorpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Nelthorpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Will Barber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Everton City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wally Nancy to maneuver through the defense. Dale Nelthorpe scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Will Barber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Damion Blackwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wally Nancy's late challenge caught a Bourne City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wally Nancy helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bourne City booed when Everton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wally Nancy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Leigh Marshall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ritchie Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Clarke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ritchie Pearson having to make a save. Bourne City's Ritchie Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyler Blewitt in the 46th minute of play. Will Barber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damion Blackwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Damion Blackwell in the 53rd minute of play forced Everton City's goalkeeper Will Barber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute, Tyler Blewitt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Everton City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dale Nelthorpe fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 55 minutes, Teddy Parks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Everton City and the Bourne City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bourne City booed when Everton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddy Parks didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dale Nelthorpe got free with Will Barber in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Wally Nancy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Everton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Wally Nancy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ritchie Pearson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mattias Clarke took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ritchie Pearson. Ritchie Pearson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tyler Blewitt during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Tyler Blewitt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Dale Nelthorpe could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Will Barber however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Everton City getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Leigh Marshall hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bourne City's zone, Mattias Clarke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ritchie Pearson came out of the goal and Mattias Clarke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damion Blackwell during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Everton City booed when Bourne City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damion Blackwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ritchie Pearson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias Clarke in the 93rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johnathan Nicholson during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Mattias Clarke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Everton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Mattias Clarke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ritchie Pearson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Although Everton City had been in control for most of the match, Bourne City still came away with the win.
