Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francis Pointon started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sunderland's Stuart Beresford got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Vic Rundell scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Basil Delamore, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gav Warne hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 9th play minutes Jay Kirkpatrick shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Basil Delamore and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 13th match minute, Sunderland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stuart Beresford to maneuver through the defense. Basil Delamore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vic Rundell's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute, Stewart Giles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute, Stuart Beresford sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Baltic Pearl FC's Joel Dudgeon didn't even have to move. After some careless play in the Baltic Pearl FC defense, Josh Fry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Dudgeon. The Baltic Pearl FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Dudgeon should have stopped the shot. Jay Kirkpatrick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Basil Delamore read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th minute Jay Kirkpatrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basil Delamore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Baltic Pearl FC's goal looked a bit too open when Josh Fry came free, but Joel Dudgeon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Sebastian Fish hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Dudgeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Pointon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Dudgeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francis Pointon in the 40th minute of play. Jay Kirkpatrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Basil Delamore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vic Rundell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basil Delamore was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. If Francis Pointon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vic Rundell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Baltic Pearl FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francis Pointon came free, but Joel Dudgeon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vic Rundell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil Delamore having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jay Kirkpatrick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baltic Pearl FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jay Kirkpatrick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basil Delamore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Dudgeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Pointon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute Francis Pointon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Dudgeon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jay Kirkpatrick during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th match minute, Baltic Pearl FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jay Kirkpatrick to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Baltic Pearl FC's zone, Francis Pointon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Dudgeon came out of the goal and Francis Pointon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josh Fry could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Joel Dudgeon made a huge save. After 94 played minutes Sunderland got a freekick which was hit by Edward Griffin.
