Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jay Litchfield made the kick off which started today's match. Denis Lester's late challenge caught a Lingfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Lester helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hawbush United getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Denis Lester hit a great ball. Hawbush United's Felix Reid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Litchfield in the 9th minute of play. Ashley English's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Stan Perkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jay Litchfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edward Ashton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Reid having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Lingfield's goalkeeper Stan Perkins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ashley English. In the 23rd minute Edward Ashton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Reid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stan Perkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Sedgemore in the 26th minute of play. Edward Ashton scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Reid, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stan Perkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rio Sedgemore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Lingfield getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Trevor Stonehouse hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Rio Sedgemore made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Jay Litchfield ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Reid was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 61st minute, Jay Litchfield reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Felix Reid. The goal made the score 0-3. When Hawbush United's Rio Sedgemore in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lingfield's goalie prevented a goal. 68 minutes into the game, Hawbush United's Rio Sedgemore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stan Perkins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 72 minutes into the game, Tom Pickford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lingfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hawbush United the free kick. Tom Pickford kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Stan Perkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Sedgemore in the 76th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Hawbush United got a freekick which was hit by Reg Bramble. 81 minutes into the match, Lingfield's Edward Ashton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Reid narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The long shot by Tom Pickford in the 84th minute really tested Felix Reid's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Edward Ashton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Reid having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Ashton got free with Felix Reid in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rio Sedgemore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stan Perkins having to make a save. Stan Perkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Sedgemore, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Lingfield supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lingfield would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
