Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bart Spacey started the match with the kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Bart Spacey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heathrow Airport's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bart Spacey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jason Brearley struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Jim Cordingley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heathrow Airport. If Brad Basham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brad Basham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Hibbert having to interfere. Cody Johnstone struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Will Hibbert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ashton-in-Makerfield FC. Rufus Crowther received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jim Cordingley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ashton-in-Makerfield FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gary Green hit a great ball. In the 27th match minute, Heathrow Airport was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calum Jenkins to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Heathrow Airport's Jay La Forte got a free kick in the 29th minute. Glenn Galloway took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Will Hibbert. Heathrow Airport's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rufus Crowther in the 32nd minute of play forced Ashton-in-Makerfield FC's goalkeeper Jim Cordingley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bart Spacey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bart Spacey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Cordingley having to interfere. Rufus Crowther fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Cordingley having to interfere. Damien Blacksmith hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Spacey in the 60th minute of play forced Ashton-in-Makerfield FC's goalkeeper Jim Cordingley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cody Johnstone might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Will Hibbert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cody Johnstone ran back to his position shaking his head. Rufus Crowther received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jim Cordingley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heathrow Airport's Lawrence Hassell shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jim Cordingley but with some difficulty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Spacey in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Cordingley saved Ashton-in-Makerfield FC from getting behind. In the 79th minute Brad Basham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Hibbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Bart Spacey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Cordingley was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Heathrow Airport's Rufus Crowther got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rufus Crowther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rufus Crowther fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Cordingley having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Bart Spacey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heathrow Airport's supporters rose to their feet, but Bart Spacey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Cordingley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Heathrow Airport's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
