Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nial Afful started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Redruth's Eddie Butterworth got a free kick in the 6th minute. After having played for 8 minutes, Phil Jackson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kingswear's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Jackson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Phil Jackson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phil Jackson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bob Sills fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Ford having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ross Bagshaw in the 16th minute of play forced Kingswear's goalkeeper Tim Ford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bob Sills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tim Ford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phil Jackson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Lovett having to interfere. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Redruth's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfie Avery was slow to take the kick. During this time Kingswear's players had a chance to rest. Bob Sills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tim Ford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nial Afful had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31stth minute of the game Nial Afful who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Redruth's Ivan Lovett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Bob Sills notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kingswear's Tim Ford. Tim Ford was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nial Afful sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Martyn Parkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Lovett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nial Afful, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Redruth's Bob Sills sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Ford narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the game, Kingswear's Phil Jackson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Lovett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ross Bagshaw in the 74th minute of play forced Kingswear's goalkeeper Tim Ford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ross Bagshaw's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tim Ford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Johnny Dunning kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Redruth's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Johnathon Peyton in the 81st minute. Redruth's Johnathon Peyton was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tim Ford in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Ross Bagshaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ross Bagshaw took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tim Ford. Tim Ford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Kingswear were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Redruth to leave the ground with a draw.
