Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Garry Fearns started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kelvin Bridgeworth in the 11th minute of play forced New Romney United's goalkeeper Ralf Macken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ralf Macken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kelvin Bridgeworth's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Kelvin Bridgeworth struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Ralf Macken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doncaster City FC. If Gary Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kelvin Bridgeworth was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 18th minute. Doncaster City FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kelvin Bridgeworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, New Romney United's goal looked a bit too open when Kelvin Bridgeworth came free, but Ralf Macken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ross Llyod hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Gary Louis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ralf Macken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Gary Louis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Garry Fearns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kelvin Bridgeworth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ralf Macken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gary Louis in the 56th minute of play. Kelvin Bridgeworth might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralf Macken. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kelvin Bridgeworth ran back to his position shaking his head. Ralf Macken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gary Louis in the 64th minute of the match. Brad Liddle kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After 67 played minutes, Doncaster City FC's Jo Rayner shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ralf Macken came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Doncaster City FC reached it. Kelvin Bridgeworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Kelvin Bridgeworth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ralf Macken was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Guy Harkness charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guy Harkness the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 played minutes Doncaster City FC got a freekick which was hit by Guy Harkness. In the 76th minute, Ross Llyod sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Doncaster City FC's Gareth Blake didn't even have to move. Gary Louis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ralf Macken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralf Macken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gary Louis, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Miles Wybrow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gareth Blake having to make a save. Garry Fearns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Doncaster City FC fully deserved thier win.
