Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tod Dickens took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Doncaster City FC's zone, Tod Dickens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gareth Blake came out of the goal and Tod Dickens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The attack was good, but when Reggie Younger in the 6th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The corner led Bolton Wanderers's Johnny Apsden to fire away a dangerous shot which Gareth Blake despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Tod Dickens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolton Wanderers's supporters rose to their feet, but Tod Dickens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gareth Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bolton Wanderers's Marty Leadbeater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelvin Bridgeworth in the 16th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kelvin Bridgeworth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marty Leadbeater was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Gareth Blake made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Devon Nelson sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute, Bolton Wanderers's Tod Dickens ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gareth Blake. Gareth Blake yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 28th match minute, Bolton Wanderers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Archer to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Jo Rayner sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marty Leadbeater skillfully saved the ball. Marty Leadbeater showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Bridgeworth in the 32nd minute of the match. Gareth Blake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tod Dickens's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Donny Henderson's late challenge caught a Bolton Wanderers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donny Henderson helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Doncaster City FC got a freekick which was hit by Donny Henderson. Bolton Wanderers were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Doncaster City FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Johnny Apsden took the corner. Gareth Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Dickens in the 43rd minute of play. Marty Leadbeater showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donny Henderson, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Reggie Younger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kelvin Bridgeworth to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Kelvin Bridgeworth reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marty Leadbeater. The goal made the score 2-1. Reggie Younger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gareth Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Doncaster City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Buster Tomkin to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 71 minutes, Reggie Younger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolton Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reggie Younger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gary Louis took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marty Leadbeater. Marty Leadbeater dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Doncaster City FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! Johnny Apsden shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 83rd minute, Buster Tomkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tod Dickens succeeded in the game's 88th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. Reggie Younger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 98 minutes, Tod Dickens made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Doncaster City FC's Gareth Blake tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Bolton Wanderers were the better team. Bolton Wanderers's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
