Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Phil Afful took the kick off in the first half of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Phil Afful recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dale Jewson. Phil Afful showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrian Nethercoat in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camron Bailey saved Long Eaton from getting behind. A collision led to Long Eaton getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Paul Rothwell hit a great ball. In the 18th match minute, Rackenford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Nethercoat to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Afful in the 23rd minute of play forced Rackenford's goalkeeper Dale Jewson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camron Bailey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Nethercoat in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Adrian Nethercoat had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camron Bailey. Long Eaton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Nethercoat was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Trev Neville fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rackenford's protests and gave Trev Neville a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Long Eaton booed when Rackenford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trev Neville didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rackenford's Adrian Nethercoat got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Paul Clough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camron Bailey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Adrian Nethercoat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Camron Bailey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Long Eaton's Benjamin Lloyd got a free kick in the 40th minute. After 45th play minutes John Paul Clough shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Camron Bailey and just under the crossbar into goal.
The wind increased when Adrian Nethercoat made the kick off in the second half. When Phil Afful came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Long Eaton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Afful couldn't finish the play. Camron Bailey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trev Neville in the 56th minute of play. After 62 minutes, Phil Afful mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Long Eaton and the Rackenford players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phil Afful hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, one of Rackenford:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rackenford. Camron Bailey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trev Neville in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Adrian Nethercoat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camron Bailey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Benjamin Lloyd was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Long Eaton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rackenford the free kick. With a little luck, Long Eaton's Camron Bailey got control of the ball when John Paul Clough tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Paul Clough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Camron Bailey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vic Benbow fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Long Eaton's protests and gave Vic Benbow a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Long Eaton got a freekick which was hit by Vic Benbow. John Paul Clough in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Camron Bailey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Benjamin Lloyd got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Rackenford booed when Long Eaton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Lloyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Adrian Nethercoat kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Camron Bailey. That made the score 2-3 in the 88 minute of play. In the 93rd minute John Paul Clough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camron Bailey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Long Eaton's zone, John Paul Clough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camron Bailey came out of the goal and John Paul Clough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rio Hudson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rackenford eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
