Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Robert Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Burnham on Sea City's Tod Coombe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frazer Dryden in the 6th minute of play. When Burnham on Sea City's Trey Church in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Putney's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Burnham on Sea City booed when Putney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Syd Lansdell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Smith in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tod Coombe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Scott Wright took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Frost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Putney getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Syd Lansdell hit a great ball. Scott Wright didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trey Church went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute Trey Church shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Wright saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Trey Church had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 minutes, Jay Sinclair mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Putney and the Burnham on Sea City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Burnham on Sea City booed when Putney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jay Sinclair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scott Wright showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trey Church, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 45th minute, Syd Lansdell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Al Gilroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trey Church to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Martyn Kemp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Putney's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burnham on Sea City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Putney's Martyn Kemp got a free kick in the 54th minute. When George Frost, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 55 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Scott Wright was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 63rd minute Frazer Dryden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Coombe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Putney's goalkeeper Scott Wright, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Scott Upson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Robert Smith struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Tod Coombe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Putney. The supporters of Putney booed when Burnham on Sea City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bobby Wall didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jay Sinclair was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. After 87 played minutes Putney got a freekick which was hit by Jay Sinclair. If George Frost had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Syd Lansdell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Putney fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Burnham on Sea City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
