Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Martyn Walsh took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phillip Westerby. Phillip Westerby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Greg Medley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Martyn Walsh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Phillip Westerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Whitton defense, Martyn Walsh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phillip Westerby. The Whitton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phillip Westerby should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Walsh in the 16th minute of play forced Whitton's goalkeeper Phillip Westerby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Whitton's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Medley came free, but Phillip Westerby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Everard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sly Billing, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. A collision led to Bollington City getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Seth Fowler hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Whitton's goal looked a bit too open when Martyn Walsh came free, but Phillip Westerby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Whitton's Phillip Westerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greg Medley in the 39th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martyn Walsh to make the kick off. Cliff Pearce hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Whitton's Phillip Westerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Walsh in the 52nd minute of play. Carlton Jobling came free in the 62nd minute and tried to tip the ball over Ian Everard, but to the joy of Bollington City's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Thanks to Bollington City's goalie finding himself so far out he could grab the ball Carlton Jobling tried to make a shot after getting passed the defense. Ian Everard seemed to really have strength and confidence after that save. Phillip Westerby made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Greg Medley sent off a good shot on target. After 76 played minutes Whitton got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Goldsmith. Greg Medley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Phillip Westerby made a huge save. After 82 played minutes Whitton got a freekick which was hit by Cliff Pearce. In the 85th match minute, Whitton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sly Billing to maneuver through the defense. Greg Medley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Phillip Westerby when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 90 played minutes Whitton got a freekick which was hit by Laurence Goldsmith.
