Ramsgate United's Bradley Markham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Paul Porter in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Diss AFC's Al Bright got a free kick in the 5th minute. Dean Speight took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vic Colman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diss AFC's Dean Speight played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vic Colman in the 12th minute of play. Vic Colman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Vern Newton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Loyd Moxon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Bradley Markham when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bradley Markham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Paul Porter, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When John Paul Porter got free in front of the goal in the 39th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Bradley Markham was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Loyd Moxon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bradley Markham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Paul Porter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Paul Porter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Bradley Markham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Ramsgate United's goalkeeper Bradley Markham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loyd Moxon. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rowan Burkinshaw made a kick off. A collision led to Diss AFC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Damian Acton hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Diss AFC's zone, Vic Colman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Speight came out of the goal and Vic Colman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Paul Porter in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bradley Markham saved Ramsgate United from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, John Paul Porter put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bradley Markham. Bradley Markham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Paul Porter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Ramsgate United's goal looked a bit too open when Loyd Moxon came free, but Bradley Markham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Diss AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rowan Burkinshaw came free, but Dean Speight reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Paul Porter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ramsgate United's Vern Newton got a free kick in the 76th minute. Loyd Moxon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Ramsgate United's Rowan Burkinshaw dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After 89 minutes, Damian Acton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diss AFC and the Ramsgate United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Diss AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Acton to maneuver through the defense. Ramsgate United's Keiran Dalby couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Diss AFC. 97 minutes into the match, Diss AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rowan Burkinshaw came free, but Dean Speight reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramsgate United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
