Tod Campbell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gainsborough's Andre Street proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Gainsborough from getting a goal against them. Shaun Budge's late challenge caught a Gainsborough's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shaun Budge helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Weybridge United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Shaun Budge hit a great ball. Chaz Chadwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kirk Prior fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gainsborough's protests and gave Kirk Prior a yellow card for diving instead. Kirk Prior kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gainsborough's zone, Chaz Chadwick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andre Street came out of the goal and Chaz Chadwick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tod Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice moves Tod Campbell could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Andre Street however easily saved by the left post. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gainsborough's goalkeeper Andre Street, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Gav Dawson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gainsborough's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Weybridge United the free kick. 41 minutes into the match, Gainsborough's goal looked a bit too open when Chaz Chadwick came free, but Andre Street reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Austen Woodman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andre Street read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Tod Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kirk Prior to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Tod Campbell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Street saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tod Campbell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andre Street made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chaz Chadwick in the 57th minute of play. Chaz Chadwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Rhys Lynam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andre Street showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Campbell in the 85th minute of the match. After 85 minutes, Geoff Rockett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gainsborough and the Weybridge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Chaz Chadwick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rhys Lynam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ray Purkiss made a huge save. Austen Woodman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Street having to interfere. Gainsborough's Andre Street played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chaz Chadwick in the 98th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Weybridge United had played much better football throughout.
