After a rather tough play, A.F.C Bournemouth's George Atkinson got a free kick in the 18th minute. Travis Prutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Neil Crane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, A.F.C Bournemouth's Neil Crane got control of the ball when Travis Prutton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dale Dearden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Travis Prutton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Dale Dearden successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the A.F.C Bournemouth defense, Travis Prutton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Neil Crane. The A.F.C Bournemouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Neil Crane should have stopped the shot. A very good chance. cavefc's Dale Dearden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Atkinson in the 90th minute of play. George Atkinson succeeded in the game's 96th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
