Richard Hume started the match with the kick off. George Atkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Seth Astridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 5 minutes, George Atkinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.F.C Bournemouth's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Atkinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeo Courtney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. A wasted opportunity for A.F.C Bournemouth. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denny Needham in the 32nd minute of play forced Windlesham's goalkeeper Seth Astridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of A.F.C Bournemouth booed when Windlesham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paddy Delamore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max Tomlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th match minute, Windlesham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paddy Delamore to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Windlesham's goal looked a bit too open when George Atkinson came free, but Seth Astridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

50 minutes into the game, Gav Crouch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Windlesham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.F.C Bournemouth the free kick. In the 51st match minute, Windlesham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gav Crouch to maneuver through the defense. After 55 minutes, Paddy Delamore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windlesham and the A.F.C Bournemouth players grew even worse after the yellow card.
