In the 16th minute Ian Capes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Jonathan Ashford left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fordham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 25th minute Ian Capes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ashford struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Dean Bell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fordham. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danny Buchanan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ian Capes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Coulson kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, Russell Connor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Sly Horsey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Capes in the 64th minute of play forced Oswestry's goalkeeper Dean Bell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sly Horsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Russell Connor in the 65th minute of play. Jonathan Ashford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Dean Bell made a huge save. Ian Capes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ashford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Bell having to interfere. Dean Bell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Capes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Oswestry getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Danny Buchanan hit a great ball. Sly Horsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Buchanan in the 76th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Jasper Sutcliffe fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dean Bell, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Ashford got free with Dean Bell in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Danny Buchanan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sly Horsey having to make a save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Fordham had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
