Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Radway's Roger Flower started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Radway booed when Shrewsbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Ricketts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fred Sollit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Denny Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Roger Flower who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shrewsbury's Beinn Cotton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Sollit in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denny Cookson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 28 minutes into the match, Danny Smith notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Radway's Denny Cookson. Denny Cookson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Richie Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Denny Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Flower received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Beinn Cotton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Thom Banks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Radway fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fred Sollit to strike the kick off in the second half. Denny Cookson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Sollit in the 55th minute of play. If Fred Sollit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Sebastian Hulbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Sollit in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denny Cookson saved Radway from getting behind. Thanks to some nice moves Thom Banks could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Beinn Cotton however easily saved by the left post. In the 72nd minute Danny Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Cookson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beinn Cotton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Flower, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thom Banks succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 76th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Flower in the 80th minute of play forced Shrewsbury's goalkeeper Beinn Cotton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danny Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Cookson having to interfere. If Fred Sollit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radway's Denny Cookson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Sollit in the 95th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
